Girl with a pearl earring is regarded as the masterpiece of Dutch painter Johan Vermeer. The painting was initially titled as Girl with a turban. The girl in the painting is believed to be the painter’s eldest daughter, Maria.
- Whistlers mother
Whistler’s mother is another most aesthetic artwork by an American painter James McNeill Whistler. The painting is originally known as ‘’arrangement in Grey and Back No.1’’. This painting has become icon of Motherhood in United States.
- The scream
Norwegian Expressionist Edvard Munch created The Scream in four versions. Originally, the painter called this painting ‘Der Scheri der Natur’ in German, it means ‘The scream of Nature.
Self-portraits are the most important artwork of famous post-impressionist Vincent Van Gogh. The painter created 43 self-portraits in between 1885-1889.
